Merri O'Donoghue was a Family Support Worker with The Family Centre for over 8 years. After a courageous battle with cancer, Merri died in March 2010.
Merri was much loved by the many families she worked with and her friends and colleagues in the Tweed community. The Family Centre has created a fund is in her memory so her passion and determination is not forgotten and we can help to create educational opportunities for mothers from disadvantaged families more

We have a new community events calendar. If you would like to list an event that is child, young person, and/or family friendly (ie is safe, affordable, fun, entertaining, educational, interesting, healthy, etc) and in the Tweed Shire or close by can you email details to The Family Centre to be listed. Click on our community to find the calendar and email link.
Our high schools program, which delivers relationship education and life skills programs to the five public high schools in the Tweed Shire, has recently received funding for another year from the Australian Government via the Department of Families Housing Community Services and Indigenous Affairs. This means the project will be extended through to July 2011.
Continuing funding for this important project has been uncertain each year and we are pleased to be able to continue the work in schools.
