Start the new year with some fresh parenting strategies

The Family Centre has two courses commencing in February:
123 Magic
starts Tuesday February 7, 2012 and runs for 3 weeks until February 21, 2012 at 10am -12 noon each Tuesday.
This course explores a down to earth child-friendly and effective discipline approach that encourages good behaviour for children 2-12yrs. Topics include:
- Strategies to help parents sort out different types of behaviours and the best ways to manage them
- Two common mistakes of parenting too much talk and too much emotion
- Increase children’s ability to self-manage
- Pattern establishment and how to interrupt patterns
- Implementing the counting approach correctly.
Triple P Group
starts Thursday February 23, 2012 and runs for 8 weeks through to April 12 at 10am-12.30pm each Thursday.
Triple P is an 8 week parenting course for parents of children up to 12 years assists parents to build positive relationships with their children and create a stable, supportive and harmonious family. The course introduces proven methods to encourage behaviour you would like more of from your children and deal positively and consistently with problem behaviour.
