What is the Volunteer Home Visiting Service (VHVS)?

Our trained volunteers and support workers provide practical parenting support in your home.

Who is it for?

The VHVS supports parents and carers who are caring for at least one child 0-3 years of age.

How do Volunteer Home Visitors support families?

Our Volunteer Home Visitors:

  • Provide practical support for parents regarding the care of infants and young children
  • Assist to enhance parent-child relationships
  • Provide information on development and age-appropriate activities for infants and young children
  • Assist families to develop supportive relationships in the community
  • Provide information and link families to health and community services that support their parenting abilities

Volunteer Home Visitors go to parents and carers homes

When

During Family Centre office hours at times that are negotiated between parents/carers and the Volunteer Home Visiting Service.
